Space RCO Configuration Mgt / System Integrator (Senior)

About the role

This handpicked candidate must possess technical expertise and experience with standard procedures for configuration management of engineering and technical projects. Additionally, the candidate will oversee and advise government program management on integration across full spectrum of interfaces, to include coordination with multiple mission partners. In this position, you will be a government consultant to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO).

Responsibilities

• Work in a small, highly empowered team where every team member is directly responsible for the success of the program.
• Span technology domains including space rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment.
• Develop and maintain a variety of training materials, including manuals, guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide in-depth background on space vehicles, ground systems, and/or subsystems to improve program office insight into state-of-the-art IC, DoD, commercial and legacy space systems, and C2 requirements and capabilities.
• Apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts for highly classified systems, while also effectively communicating complex results with management and executive leadership.
• Perform basic and complex data research and analysis to support management, engineering, and technical projects.
• Authors and maintains training manuals, quick start guides, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides to support new and existing personnel.
• Facilitates and evaluates exercises to test and refine operational procedures and team responsiveness.
• Design, develop, and implement training programs for both new and existing personnel.
• Review and update all training materials to reflect changes in technology, procedures, and operational requirements.
• Propose, develop, and implement standard procedures for configuration management to engineering, and technical projects.
• Prepare data formats, collect, interpret, analyze, and enter data into spreadsheets, and compile data to develop and produce reports, information, data, and documentation.
• Record, track, and maintain status documents; may develop and generate special reports and progress reports.
• Aid engineers and other staff in determining requirements for current and future projects.
• May also perform data resource management duties such as the development, execution, and performance tracking of plans, policies, and programs.
• Oversee and advise government program management on integration across full spectrum of interfaces, to include coordination with multiple mission partners.
• Oversee program and capability documentation is sufficiently defined to operationally needed levels, oversee configuration and integration working groups, and coordinate with management to ensure interface definitions support delivery milestones.
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy—oral and written.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience.
• Exceptional qualifications organizational management and integration.
• Understanding of space operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
• Knowledge of space system engineering, development, and manufacturing.
• Experience in DoD program management including program development and transition.
• Experience with Integrated Master Schedules, and risk management.
• Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS).
• Five (5) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience with SAP and/or SCISystem Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program office.
• Experience with rapid prototyping.
• Experience with integrated air, space and cyberspace capabilities.
• Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and effective training materials.
• Experience in planning and executing test campaigns for space systems.
• Fluency with IC organizations.
• An applicable engineering degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or possess a Professional Engineering license.
• Relevant MA/MS/ME degree.
• Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and special access program (SAP) eligibility (no less than 2 years total SAP and/or SCI environment experience, with 1-year total within last 5 years) and willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph.
• Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment.
