Space RCO Configuration Management / System Integrator - Senior

MTSI is searching for a Senior Configuration Management / System Integrator professional to support development of the Rapid Resilient Command and Control program, delivering a common space vehicle ground system. This role serves as a government consultant to the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (RCO), a streamlined organization enabling rapid response for classified space programs. The mission focuses on developing and delivering operationally dominant space capabilities at the speed of warfighting relevance.

About the role

You will work in a small, highly empowered team where every member is directly responsible for program success. Responsibilities span technology domains including space-rated hardware, software, sensors, and processors in a fast-paced, responsive development environment. This SETA (System Engineering and Technical Assistance) role involves developing, managing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for Operations Support/Help Desk personnel and Space Force Operators, as well as providing in-depth technical background on space vehicles, ground systems, and subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and complex data research and analysis to support management, engineering, and technical projects.
• Author and maintain training manuals, quick start guides, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides for new and existing personnel.
• Plan, facilitate, and evaluate exercises (e.g., Table Top Exercises) to test and refine operational procedures and team responsiveness.
• Design, develop, and implement training programs for personnel, regularly updating materials to reflect changes in technology, procedures, and operational requirements.
• Propose, develop, and implement standard procedures for configuration management of engineering and technical projects.
• Prepare data formats, collect, interpret, analyze, and enter data into spreadsheets; compile data to develop reports and documentation.
• Record, track, and maintain status documents; develop and generate special reports and progress reports.
• Assist engineers and staff in determining requirements for current and future projects; perform data resource management duties.
• Oversee and advise government program management on integration across a full spectrum of interfaces, coordinating with multiple mission partners.
• Ensure program and capability documentation is sufficiently defined to operationally needed levels; oversee configuration and integration working groups.
• Provide system and subsystem integration technical expertise for emerging space-related mission areas.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of DoD/IC or relevant industry work experience.
• Exceptional organizational management and integration skills.
• Understanding of the space operational environment and corresponding mission user needs.
• Knowledge of space system engineering, development, and manufacturing.
• Experience in DoD program management, including program development and transition.
• Experience with Integrated Master Schedules and risk management.
• Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS).
• Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility (minimum 2 years total SAP/SCI environment experience, with 1 year within the last 5 years).
• Willingness to submit to a Counter-Intelligence polygraph.
• Must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment.

Desired Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant DoD and/or industry work experience with SAP and/or SCI.
• System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) experience in a government program office.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and integrated air, space, and cyberspace capabilities.
• Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and effective training materials.
• Experience in planning and executing test campaigns for space systems.
• Fluency with IC organizations.
• An applicable engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program or a Professional Engineering license.
• Relevant MA/MS/ME degree.

Schedule

• Full-time, on-site in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Travel up to 30% of the time within the continental United States.

Pay

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $165,000/year to $185,000/year. Base pay may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
