About the role
The Sp Unit Staff RN - Hospital DOU/SDU Variable Shifts and Schedules position is part of the hospital expansion tower opening in the Riverside Service Area. This opportunity is for external candidates interested in positions that will not be filled internally.
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and demonstrates accountability.
- Ensures multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education in the individualized plan of care.
- Maintains patient safety by ensuring optimal pain control, patient comfort, and clear understanding of discharge instructions.
- Documents accurately, legibly, dated, and timed, reflecting the nursing process and interventions.
- Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
- Adheres to workplace safety principles and practices, applies standard precautions, and maintains a safe environment.
- Supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through unit-based teams.
- Organizes work to minimize overtime and identifies systems improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Critical Care, or successful completion of a KP Critical Care course or approved equivalent within the past 12 months.
- Registered Nurse License (California).
- Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- Critical Care experience required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

- Utilizes payroll and non-payroll resources to their maximum potential.
