SP Maintenance Technician
About the role
Set up, adjust, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality on this equipment. Monitor all systems during plant operations. Analyze and correct technical and mechanical problems and repair and overhaul equipment and controls. Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. Assist in the installation on new packaging lines.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or GED and/or technical training or 3 years’ experience is required. Special knowledge and skills include knowledge of industrial electrical control.
Experience
- Experience as a maintenance mechanic
- Experience in using electrical measurement equipment
- Experience in repairing problems in pneumatic systems
- Experience in fault tracing in electrical control circuits
- Experience in installing electric motors
- Basic experience in building maintenance
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities
- Manages level of adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to Maintenance, Production and Sanitation
- Ensures compliance with all company and regulatory product quality standards, sanitation standards, food safety standards, employee safety and environmental standards
- Complies and enforces food quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Provides repairs on equipment for Maintenance, Production, Sanitation and the Warehouse to safely and efficiently run operations
- Keeps work area clean and in neat condition and enforces best practices for manufacturing (GMP's and 5S's)
General Functions
- Maintain equipment functioning in a safe and efficient operation
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
- Repairs or replaces defective parts
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices
- Lubricates and cleans parts
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines
- Repairs electrical equipment
- Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action

Soft Skills
- High mental and visual effort required
- Willingness to work rotating shifts when required
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Physical And Mental Job Requirements
Job involves standing most of shift. Good physical condition, able to lift and push 50 lbs. safely. Sufficient manual dexterity to repair machines properly. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending. Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts and equipment.
