About the role

The Resources Business Group Manager position at HDR is responsible for leading the Southern California practice, developing strategies to grow the business, and managing projects. This role requires strong leadership, client management, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the business and diversify the client base
  • Lead strategic client and project pursuits
  • Manage projects, provide technical services, and supervise staff
  • Oversee quality of deliverables and coordinate working relationships with staff on the Continental United States
  • Prepare annual revenue forecasts and budgets, monitor performance, and sell and win projects

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience including strong leadership experience in consulting services for complex projects
  • Specific knowledge of the Southern California market is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead client teams and execute high-quality work
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational development and building team structures for program growth and resilience
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams in an inclusive and proactive manner
  • Committed to quality, process improvements, and upholding HDR values
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
  • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group managers, technical directors, and marketing managers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams
  • Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand
  • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors, and marketing managers

Skills

This position requires strong leadership, project management, and client relationship skills. Knowledge of Southern California market dynamics is beneficial.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this position is $187,000 to $267,000, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
