Responsibilities
- Drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda of law, discovery requests and responses, and legal correspondence
- Attending all court appearances and depositions for South Carolina cases
- Handling all aspects of discovery
- Efficiently and competently researching legal issues
- Communicating clearly both orally and in writing to colleagues and clients
Requirements
- 5+ years of litigation experience working on personal injury defense cases
- Licensed to practice law in South Carolina and in good standing
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Outstanding references
Position Details
- Type of Role: Engagement
- Schedule: Part-Time (approximately 5-10 hours per week)
- Location: Fully Remote (Residing in South Carolina)
- Compensation: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $185,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference.
- Benefits: In addition to compensation, all Latitude attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage for work or acts or omissions provided within the scope of a Latitude-authorized engagement. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
