SOUS CHEF (TEMPORARY)
About the role
CulinArt Sector is hiring a temporary SOUS CHEF at Marymount High School located at 10643 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90077. Applications can be submitted online. The schedule is from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. A requirement of one year of previous experience is needed.
Responsibilities
- Cooks and prepares food according to approved recipes and production standards.
- Maintains deadlines based on production orders.
- Supervises hourly food service associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviewing performance, and recommending disciplinary actions.
- Stores food in designated areas following all corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils, ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and appropriate serving temperatures.
- Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving and keeps display equipment clean and debris-free during meal service.
- Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner and relays relevant information to supervisors.
- Demonstrates knowledge of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers.
- Maintains inventory and tracks product production, consumption, and waste, informing supervisors when supplies or products are low.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
