About the role
The role of Sous Chef in Boston is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen operations. This includes overseeing daily food preparation, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Manage inventory levels and ensure efficient use of resources
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to implement new recipes and techniques
- Train and supervise kitchen staff
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent
- Proven ability to manage kitchen staff and maintain a positive team dynamic
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
