About the role
The Sous Chef at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort is responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and presentation, and collaborating with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu items.
Responsibilities
- Oversee kitchen staff and ensure adherence to food safety standards
- Develop and execute new menu items in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain a positive work environment
- Manage inventory and budgeting
- Train and mentor kitchen staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent
- Proven ability to manage kitchen staff and maintain high standards of food quality
- Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate effectively with other departments
- Experience with menu development and cost control
Qualifications
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Proficiency in culinary techniques and food preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
