About the role
Vic's On The River is seeking a creative and motivated sous chef to join their talented kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing new menu options, assisting with meal designs, resolving customer issues, and managing the kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
- Aid in the preparation and planning of meal designs.
- Ensure kitchen activities operate efficiently and promptly.
- Resolve customer problems and concerns personally.
- Monitor and record inventory, and order new supplies as needed.
- Support junior kitchen employees with tasks such as line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
- Create schedules for kitchen employees and evaluate their performance.
- Adhere to and implement sanitation and safety regulations.
- Manage the kitchen team in the absence of the executive chef.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
- A good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
- Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
