About the role
Treno Pizza Bar is seeking a Sous Chef to join their dynamic team in Haddon Township, NJ. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure high-level culinary standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Achieve company objectives in sales, food quality, food presentation, kitchen safety, sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
- Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, presentation and serving standards.
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of business operations and financials.
- Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling and planning.
- Create memorable dining experiences by exceeding guest expectations.
- Ensure adherence to recipes, safety practices and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
- Perform calmly and effectively in a high-volume, open kitchen.
- Manage on the fly requests with ease and poise.
- Coach, lead and develop culinary team.
Requirements
- Ability to lead and make decisions using general, restaurant management guidelines.
- Friendly, approachable and able to communicate effectively to employees, other management and customers.
- Has a “can-do” attitude and the willingness to learn and execute quickly.
- Manages multiple priorities, tasks and takes initiative.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of high-volume culinary management experience.
- Possesses basic computer skills and the ability to work with a scheduling, time and attendance system.
- Understand POS systems and inventory control systems.
- ServSafe Certification required.
