Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensuring that our kitchen is fully and appropriately staffed at all times
- Interviews, trains, counsels, and coaches staff
- Ensures all training materials, development and schedules are being followed
- Clearly communicates with all Team Members
- Ensures a harassment-free environment for all Team Members
- Manages and makes adjustments to labor on a shift-to-shift basis while ensuring we don't harm the Guest experience
- Ensures that all laws, regulations, and guidelines are being followed
- Creates a restaurant atmosphere that both patrons and employees enjoy
- Variety of other tasks as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous chef, Kitchen Manager or a current NYAJoes employee
- Extensive food knowledge and the ability to remember and recall ingredients and recipes
- Great leadership skills
- Able to coordinate and train team members
- Exhibits a neat, clean and professional image at all times
- Genuinely hospitable and polite to our guests and team members
- Sense of urgency
- Attention to detail/organized
- Able to work while standing for 10+ hours a day
- Dependable, trustworthy
- Able to work all stations in the kitchen, (grill saute, pantry, pizza, fry and expo)
- Team Player
