About the role
We are seeking a driven and experienced Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef and Banquet Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations. This role plays a vital part in both à la carte service and banquet production, ensuring exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and organization are consistently met. The ideal candidate brings a passion for culinary excellence, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values teamwork in a collaborative kitchen setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations and the execution of service, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Supervise and support line cooks and other kitchen staff while also contributing to menu creation.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation across all dishes.
- Assist with both à la carte service and banquet production, ensuring food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Uphold sanitation standards in accordance with health department regulations.
- Ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all food products.
- Help train and mentor kitchen staff while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen environment.
Requirements
- Culinary degree or at least 4+ years of kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or club.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Food Management certification preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required.
