Schedule

Full-Time: 10:00am - 6:30pm, including every other weekend

About You

You are a service-oriented and experienced dining professional with a passion for leading and mentoring others. You model exceptional service, have a strong understanding of dining operations, and bring enthusiasm to training and supporting team members while ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the kitchen in the absence of the Director of Dining Services and Executive Chef
  • Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and recipes
  • Determines amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
  • Follows all HACCP protocols and complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards including daily and weekly completion of logs
  • Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Stores food properly and safely, manages labeling and dating daily, with follow up on staff discrepancies
  • Maintains storage areas
  • Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders
  • Preps food as necessary
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and presentation of food are preserved
  • Oversee monthly inventory systems management process

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and Culinary Arts training
  • A Culinary Arts Degree or certification by ACF preferred
  • Serv Safe Certification is required
  • A minimum of 3 years related production and supervisory experience in a continuing care retirement community, hospital, hotel, restaurant or similar facility
  • Must possess a customer service background and orientation
  • HACCP training preferred
