About the role
Our Sous Chefs are the heartbeat of our scratch kitchens. We’re looking for leaders who can inspire teams, uphold high standards, and help us deliver the warm, genuine hospitality experience Lazy Dog is known for. If you bring 2+ years of high-volume culinary leadership, a passion for cooking with real ingredients, and a desire to create memorable hospitality, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire kitchen teams in a high-volume scratch kitchen environment
- Uphold high culinary standards and ensure consistent quality
- Train, develop, and coach a group of talented culinary professionals
- Build lasting relationships with trust and respect at all levels
- Demonstrate strong cooking-from-scratch ability
- Deliver warm, small-town hospitality to create memorable guest experiences
Requirements
- 2+ years of high-volume sous chef or kitchen manager experience
- 2+ years of high-volume culinary management experience
- Strong guest service and culinary background
- Basic English/Spanish communication skills
- Ability to achieve personal and professional growth
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Valid ServSafe Card (California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois)
- Valid Food Handlers Card (California, Nevada, Texas, Virginia)

About Lazy Dog Restaurant
Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is a family-run group of restaurants based out of Southern California. We exist to nourish connections for our guests, teammates, and communities. Inspired by the lifestyle in the Rocky Mountains, where founder Chris Simms spent much of his childhood, Lazy Dog offers warm, small-town hospitality and handcrafted food and drink in a social setting.
