About the role

The role of Sous Chef is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef oversees daily operations, assists in menu development, and ensures food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
  • Assist in menu planning and preparation, collaborating with the Executive Chef to develop new dishes.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills.
  • Ensure high-quality food production and adherence to established recipes and standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and assist in procurement processes to maintain optimal stock.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to implement new culinary techniques and trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and lead kitchen operations effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and following recipes accurately.
  • Experience with cost control and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of food sourcing and supplier relationships.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
