About the Role
As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in preparing food items and delivering outstanding service across the culinary division, including dining outlets, banquets, pastry, cafeteria, and stewarding. This role involves menu item creation, scheduling, payroll management, ordering, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and execution of culinary offerings, ensuring high standards of flavor, technique, and presentation.
- Uphold sanitation practices and organizational standards, enforcing all food safety regulations.
- Lead the team in managing guest orders, fostering a welcoming and efficient environment.
- Demonstrate expertise in menu items, culinary techniques, ingredients, and departmental procedures to guide staff and exceed guest expectations.
- Manage inventory control, including requisitioning, stocking, and maintaining provisions at assigned stations.
- Execute quality checks on dishes to ensure compliance with food handling, storage, and company quality assurance protocols.
- Direct opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown of workstations, and completion of daily checklists.
- Champion a culture of safety, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Inspire teamwork and collaboration within the kitchen and across departments.
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and commitment to fulfilling tasks assigned by management.
Requirements

- Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, equipment handling, and compliance with required licenses or certifications.
- Ability to comprehend and follow recipes.
- Work well under pressure, use good judgment to resolve problems, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Hear, understand, and communicate orally and in writing for normal in-person and phone conversations.
- Bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, and kneel.
- Ascend and descend a ladder.
Pay
The annual salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000, plus incentive eligibility based on performance.
