Sous Chef

Schedule

• Full‑time position, 80 hours bi‑weekly
• Hours: between 11:00 am – 8:30 pm
• Every other weekend and holiday required

Pay

$22.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Lead daily culinary planning meetings
• Attend weekly dining managers’ meetings
• Assist Executive Chef in training new associates and mentoring all production associates
• Answer, advise, or ask questions, and solve problems presented by other production associates
• Quality‑check all completed production; taste all menu items to ensure standards for appearance, texture, taste, temperature, and overall quality
• Proactively make corrections to production, plating, and presentation done by other production associates
• Assist with healthcare cooking and mentorship of those cooks
• Prepare forecasted amounts of each menu item as identified on production sheets, following recipes accurately
• Assist Executive Chef in ensuring all production associates meet standards and that production is coordinated for meal service
• Assist Executive Chef in menu planning, ordering & inventory, planning special events & catering, and other operational tasks

Qualifications

• Two (2)+ years’ experience as a Sous Chef or other kitchen leadership position
• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• ServSafe Manager’s Certificate required or willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment
