About the role
The Sourcing Manager leads sourcing and purchasing strategies that reduce costs, mitigate risk, and enhance business processes. This position manages regional, commodity, and new product purchasing teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing and purchasing strategies to reduce cost and risk while optimizing processes.
- Lead regional, commodity, and new product purchasing teams.
- Align purchasing strategy with business unit and supply chain objectives.
- Implement policies and metrics to balance cost, quality, and delivery.
- Develop category strategy using Total Value Performance (TVP) to guide supply base and technology needs.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities in the supply chain.
- Validate sourcing and contract activities of sourcing teams.
- Analyze issues to determine root causes and implications using analytical tools including Six Sigma.
- Coordinate performance across regions, teams, and departments on complex projects.
- Delegate to ensure completion of complex product projects.
- Apply Supply Base Risk Management principles to supplier selection and dual sourcing.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure manageable contracts focused on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Ensure accurate capacity planning and negotiate supplier capacity requirements.
- Create TCO pricing models and analyze supplier financial risk.
- Develop piece-part cost models using knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Manage demand and supplier capacity.
- Ensure compliance with Procurement Ethics in supplier engagement.
- Manage supplier relationships through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) processes.
Requirements
- Experience in managing sourcing and purchasing strategies.
- Knowledge of Total Value Performance (TVP) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies.
- Analytical skills including Six Sigma tools.
- Experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Understanding of supply base risk management and dual sourcing.
- Ability to develop cost models and analyze manufacturing processes.
- Strong coordination and delegation skills.
- Knowledge of Procurement Ethics and compliance.
