About the Role

Manage sourcing and purchasing strategies aimed at reducing cost, minimizing risk, and optimizing business processes. Lead regional, commodity, and new product purchasing teams while promoting alignment of purchasing strategy with business unit and supply chain goals. Implement policies and metrics to ensure the best combination of cost, quality, and delivery. Establish category strategy using the Total Value Performance (TVP) approach to define the supply base, tooling, and technology strategy to meet current and future needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, plan, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain and validate sourcing and contract activities of sourcing teams.
  • Critically analyze issues from multiple perspectives to determine root causes and broad implications using analytical tools and processes, including Six Sigma.
  • Coordinate performance across regions, teams, and departments on complex projects and workflows, delegating effectively to ensure completion.
  • Manage supply base risk by leveraging supplier selection and dual sourcing opportunities as a first line of defense against supplier risk.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead supplier negotiations to deliver easily managed contracts, ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Ensure accurate capacity planning and negotiate capacity requirements in supplier contracts to achieve the lowest TCO.
  • Create TCO pricing models, analyze supplier financial risk, and define business, technical, and qualitative requirements for objective supplier evaluation.
  • Develop piece-part cost models using extensive knowledge of product cost management and manufacturing processes, including castings, fabrications, machining, and injection molding.
  • Determine and manage demand and supplier capacity to avoid engagements that compromise sourcing, selection, and management processes.
  • Apply Procurement Ethics and seek counsel to ensure compliance.
  • Manage supplier relationships using the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, including work plans, senior sponsor meetings, and scorecards.
  • Define collaborative relationships with key/strategic suppliers to deliver mutual value.

Requirements

Positions require one of the following:

  • A Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and 3 years of experience as a Supply Chain Analyst, Planner, Sourcing Specialist, or related position.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and 5 years of experience as a Supply Chain Analyst, Planner, Sourcing Specialist, or related position.

Pay

Annual salary range: $133,578 – $154,800
