About the role

Crown Technical Systems, a Flex Company, is seeking a Sourcing Manager to join our dynamic team in Dallas, TX. Reporting to the Sr Supply Chain Manager, the Sourcing Manager will provide technical support, technical capability, and accountability to the Procurement organization.

Responsibilities

  • Promote revenue generation by understanding each segment's specific business needs and developing differentiated solutions.
  • Build relationships with the supply base to gain industry visibility and information for a compelling supply chain solution.
  • Develop and deploy a cohesive business strategy for segment-specific products, including logistics, new business development, design, supplier quality development, and commodity management.
  • Facilitate involvement between the GCM team and Flex design.
  • Enhance margins through differentiated component sourcing solutions.
  • Establish effective relationships with SSCM/GAM to be involved in new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise to establish credibility with customers.
  • Develop relationships with senior individuals in the supply base to communicate and meet Flex's wants, needs, and requirements.
  • Gain understanding of segment products and manufacturing through site visits to Flex and supplier locations.
  • Understand customer qualification requirements for new products and oversee execution through the GCM team.
  • Develop and maintain a Technology Roadmap and Supplier Capabilities.
  • Provide technical support for alternate sourcing recommendations.
  • Utilize GCM resources to advise designers on lower-cost material or assembly approaches and participate in design reviews as needed.
  • Drive the GCM team to implement supplier development initiatives to address process gaps.
  • Maintain a cost-effective infrastructure that supports the size and scale of the Segment Business.
  • Develop pricing strategies for production, design, and benchmark quoting.
  • Ensure a process for including critical parts of the Segment business in the quarterly negotiation cycle.
  • Identify ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes, systems, and value engineering.
  • Define, develop, and effectively use cost evaluation tools.
  • Assist in developing a quick RFQ process based on Segment business knowledge and provide accurate target pricing to direct suppliers.
  • Provide regular guidance on cost/price trends.
  • Develop an understanding of price points for common types/commodities within the segment.
  • Provide recommendations for managing mechanical inventory reduction.
  • Identify opportunities for sustainable materials margin improvement.
  • Negotiate and implement the lowest landed component costs across segment businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated success in Sourcing / Procurement role with a manufacturing company / organization.
  • Proven understanding of the workings of effective supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven negotiation and contracting skills in a commercial business environment; Preference for candidates that have CPM or equivalent designation.
  • Thorough understanding of complex supply contracts – capable of refining contract language and successfully working with legal support and supplier to attain needed compromise.

  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with standard business hours.
