Sourcing Manager - Buying /Procurement
About the role
Supply chains don't manage themselves — and at GE Vernova, the people who keep them moving are central to how we power the world. As a Sourcing Manager, you'll own the buying process for a defined category of goods, driving supplier relationships and purchase execution with precision and accountability. If you're someone who finds energy in solving complex procurement puzzles and leading a team toward shared goals, this role is built for you.
Responsibilities
- Own the purchase order (PO) lifecycle — place, track, and follow up on POs to ensure on-time delivery and contract compliance
- Manage supplier relationships for PO execution, acting as the primary interface between vendors and internal stakeholders on specifications, budgets, and performance expectations
- Resolve supply disruptions proactively — manage problems, schedule changes, and escalations before they impact operations
- Maintain accurate records in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to ensure data integrity across the procurement cycle
- Lead and develop your team — hire, coach, and grow talent while building a high-performing procurement function
- Drive consensus across team members and stakeholders, communicating performance expectations clearly and navigating sensitive issues with care
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a Supply Chain or related field, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement and/or supply chain
- Alternatively, a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential with at least 6 years of relevant procurement or supply chain experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and execute purchasing processes
- Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Ability to lead a small team and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with sourcing policy application and category management
- Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment across teams
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to propose practical solutions outside of standard parameters
