About the Role

As a Sourcing Manager at Sportech, you will handle all aspects of the strategic sourcing lifecycle in collaboration with both internal and external partners. You will partner with several stakeholders to bring new products to life for our customers, drive sourcing strategy to support both new and existing product lines, optimize the supplier matrix, and help achieve company financial goals. You will use your negotiation and critical thinking skills to deliver value to customers while maximizing bottom-line value for Sportech.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall spend across assigned commodity categories.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve company profitability, operational excellence, and quality.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic supplier matrix to support current and future company initiatives.
  • Structure cost reduction programs using value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) techniques, reduce supply chain complexities, and mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Lead the development and implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy, including spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and sourcing analyses.
  • Develop category sourcing plans, identify potential suppliers with new technologies or capabilities, create part requirements documentation, RFIs, RFQs, conduct bid and price analysis, negotiate and award contracts, manage supplier performance, and perform total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Negotiate complex agreements with global suppliers, considering quality, timeliness of delivery, technology, pricing, terms, tooling costs, service, and IP protection.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risk, including negotiating blanket contracts to maximize savings over multiple years of spend.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of supplier performance and establish goals for on-time delivery, quality, and cost reductions.
  • Ensure repeatable product quality from the supply base with minimal inventory and no disruptions to production.
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
  • Develop and manage the supplier contract database and all pertinent supplier-related legal documents (e.g., NDAs).
  • Partner with Engineering, Project Management, and Quality to align design with the strategic supplier base, improve reliability and accuracy, provide project support, reduce overall business costs, and mitigate risk.
  • Provide support for new product launches, including supplier selection, requests for quotes, and ensuring suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful product launches.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers and represent the "voice of the supplier" within the organization.
  • Lead by example in alignment with company core beliefs and values.
  • Coach and develop employees to maximize their effectiveness and career growth, and identify high-potential employees for greater responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, supply chain, or engineering strongly preferred.
  • Five or more years of increasing responsibilities; manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Proven track record in RFP development, sourcing processes, strategy execution, project management, and transition plans.
  • Detail-oriented strategic thinker with strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Exhibits business acumen and analytical capabilities.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity—flexible and adaptable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and advanced Excel skills required; Epicor experience strongly preferred.
  • Some travel required.

Pay

Sportech’s reasonable and good-faith estimate for the range of new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is between $105,000 - $130,000 annually. Pay may also include variable compensation such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differentials for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
