Sourcing Lead - Multiple Roles: Lending Services, Marketing & Customer Collateral, Global Labor, and Technology
About the role
Citizens is delivering a transformed sourcing experience to the business. As a Sourcing Lead, you will leverage key spend data, forward-looking market intelligence, and a fully integrated source-to-pay process to serve as a strategic partner with business line executives. This role will help drive shorter cycle times, increased market intelligence, higher-level strategic discussions, and greater savings opportunities.
The Sourcing Lead will report to the Sourcing Team Manager in Strategic Sourcing within Procurement, driving cost savings initiatives for assigned commodities while considering total cost of ownership across Citizens. You will partner with business owners to identify market and economic trends, execute on opportunities, and continually improve value from third-party relationships. Strong business acumen and an understanding of the financial services industry are essential.
The primary focus is aligning with business lines to support their goals while optimizing value for the overall organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing commodity strategies to achieve cost savings, improve quality, and enhance service levels by identifying opportunities and sourcing strategies for strategic or complex negotiations.
- Oversee all spend activity for assigned commodities and determine appropriate action plans for purchases meeting Procurement involvement thresholds.
- Join or lead cross-functional teams to execute sourcing initiatives, including competitive bidding and contract negotiations. Negotiate and redline contracts for all types of corporate transactions using an Agile contracting framework.
- Provide Category Procurement subject matter expertise; collaborate with functional and business groups as a trusted advisor to define product/service specifications and projected demand when recommending action plans.
- Maintain awareness of the industry supply base and trends to develop innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities for assigned categories, recommend key actions, and utilize analytical tools to uncover new benefits. Prioritize projects to demonstrate measurable business impact.
Requirements
- 2+ years of progressive experience in contract negotiation, vendor management, and strategic sourcing.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations and enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial modeling capability.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience working cross-functionally and driving consensus among stakeholders.
- Structured, organized, and methodical planning skills.
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of third-party risk management frameworks and regulatory environments.
- Experience managing large, complex spend portfolios.
- MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, or similar).

Schedule
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $97,000–$125,000 per year, with additional opportunity for incentive earnings. Actual pay is based on factors including budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
