About the Role

The Sourcing and Contracts Manager handles sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for assigned products or services. This role executes commodity strategies, drafts and negotiates contracts, and ensures terms align with industry standards. It also monitors existing contracts, adapts to market changes, and drives cost reductions.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and execute contracts for assigned categories, comparing them to industry trends and market standards.
  • Engage with end-users and Commodities Directors to understand market pressures and their impact on internal contracts.
  • Ensure savings goals and targets are met for assigned categories.
  • Support requests for non-strategic products or services as needed.
  • Drive yearly cost reductions by standardizing products and optimizing commodity or service costs.
  • Manage or participate in Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new or existing products and services.
  • Ensure pricing is accurate in the system to enable automated buying and identify bottlenecks in contract setup.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of contract information in the source-to-settle system.
  • Partner with sourcing, business, and legal teams on contract negotiations, rights, obligations, and RFPs.
  • Create agreements that meet organizational and supplier needs for business operations and growth.
  • Serve as a key internal interface with stakeholders, including Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Legal, Risk Management, and Compliance.
  • Review supplier requests for changes to terms and conditions, assess risk, and provide recommendations.
  • Address supplier questions and resolve or escalate disputes as appropriate.
  • Assess contracting language revisions and redlines to align with internal risk structures.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure contracts include necessary terms and comply with internal requirements.
  • Evaluate delivery and logistics options for products in collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Monitor market information, benchmarking, and product introductions to assess contract competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret and explain technical and legal jargon clearly and simply.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to view legal and contract matters through a business lens.
  • Expertise in contracting and negotiation processes to create mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Strong negotiation skills for managing complex agreements with significant budget impact.
  • Critical thinking skills to develop viable solutions for complex problems.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and contracting best practices and measurement techniques.
  • Data-based skills to analyze large volumes of spend data for supplier, product, and facility utilization.
  • Understanding of the financial and accounting impact of assigned spend areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
