About the role

Venture Global LNG is seeking an experienced leader to join the Procurement function in Houston as Manager, Sourcing & Contracts. This role is responsible and accountable for the sourcing of third-party goods and services for Venture Global LNG Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously develop a team of Sourcing Specialists who support the day-to-day procurement of specific departmental categories.
  • Participate in rigorous and critical contract negotiations with key internal stakeholders including Legal, Finance, and Projects.
  • Develop and execute multi-asset procurement strategies that support key business objectives, including strategic sourcing and cost savings.
  • Facilitate regular touch points with stakeholders to ensure the annual sourcing and contracting plan is maintained.
  • Implement best practices in procurement and contracting to support commercial and operational objectives.
  • Ensure the execution of standards, controls, policies, procedures, and performance metrics to effectively and efficiently manage the acquisition and reporting of third-party spend across assets.
  • Drive compliance in all procurement activities by ensuring Company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Conduct review meetings with key stakeholders to assess risk, review future strategies, and identify potential cost-out and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
  • Update procurement strategies based on changing market conditions and dynamic business needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years supply chain experience, including contracting, in the oil and gas industry; experience in LNG liquefaction facilities highly preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships and engage with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Understanding of key contractual terms and ability to facilitate discussion with stakeholders accordingly.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk appropriately and negotiate commercial terms with suppliers with limited Legal support.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage supplier relationships and long-term partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices and operations processes.
  • Ability to effectively lead, delegate, and motivate.
  • Able to effectively communicate across various disciplines and with contract counterparties.
  • Excellent writing skills, including drafting of simple legal documents with accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage commercially sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with team members and take direction in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A strong working relationship and collaborative partner in the interactions of maintenance activities and performance in conjunction with reliable sustained operation.
  • Experience with SAP and Coupa required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or related discipline; MBA or Juris Doctor desired.
