Sound Supervisor
About the role
The Sound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the audio production process in film and television projects. This includes managing sound recording sessions, ensuring high-quality audio, and collaborating with directors and producers to achieve the desired sound effects and dialogue.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of sound recording including pre-production planning, on-set supervision, and post-production editing.
- Collaborate with directors and producers to ensure that the sound elements meet creative and technical standards.
- Manage and train sound technicians and assistants to maintain high standards of audio quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding sound recording and playback.
- Work closely with post-production teams to integrate sound elements seamlessly into final productions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Film Production, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sound engineering or related field.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of sound technicians.
- Strong understanding of audio equipment and software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working in film and television production environments.
