About the role

The Sound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the audio production process in film and television projects. This includes managing sound recording sessions, ensuring high-quality audio, and collaborating with directors and producers to achieve the desired sound effects and dialogue.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of sound recording including pre-production planning, on-set supervision, and post-production editing.
  • Collaborate with directors and producers to ensure that the sound elements meet creative and technical standards.
  • Manage and train sound technicians and assistants to maintain high standards of audio quality.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations regarding sound recording and playback.
  • Work closely with post-production teams to integrate sound elements seamlessly into final productions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Film Production, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sound engineering or related field.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of sound technicians.
  • Strong understanding of audio equipment and software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in film and television production environments.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in audio mixing and mastering techniques.
  • Knowledge of various audio formats and codecs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with sound design and Foley techniques.
