Sound Designer
Job Summary
The Department of Theatre & Film at The University of Mississippi seeks a staff Sound Designer to supervise a sound design area, conceptualize and facilitate sound designs for departmental productions, prepare, track, and reconcile sound shop purchases and budgets, and provide support for audio engineering for each event in the department’s production facilities.

Job Description
- Supervise a sound design area at a Research I University
- Conceptualize and facilitate sound designs for departmental productions
- Prepare, track, and reconcile sound shop purchases and budgets
- Provide support for audio engineering for each event in the department’s production facilities
- Collaborate with colleagues across various areas of the department
- Oversee and maintain the sound inventory for our production venues
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in theatrical design/technology, or a related field, is preferred
- Two years of relevant experience is preferred
Education
A high school diploma is required.
Compensation
$22.55 - $33.83 per hour
