Sorting Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

Role Summary

As an Operator 1 for the Sorting Machine, this role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the sorting machinery to ensure efficient and accurate sorting of products.

Key Responsibilities

• Start up, operate, and shut down sorting machines in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines
• Observe machine operations to ensure the quality and efficiency of product sorting
• Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions to maintain optimal performance
• Inspect sorted products to ensure they meet quality standards. Remove defective items and maintain consistent quality in sorted products
• After sorting process is complete, package product into packaging cartons
• Accurately record production data, including the quantity of sorted products, machine malfunctions, and downtime
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Ability to read and interpret, blueprints, work instructions and technical specifications
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on product quality
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications (Required)

• Education: None
• Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role is preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with industrial sorting machinery

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged standing, bending, and walking for extended periods
