Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic medical sonography procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structures for accurate clinical interpretation.
- Operate and adjust specialized imaging equipment while manually maneuvering transducers to capture high-quality diagnostic images for patient care.
- Implement rigorous safety protocols and quality control procedures to ensure equipment functionality and maintain high standards of patient safety.
- Coordinate routine and complex ultrasound studies, effectively recognizing significant pathology, artifacts, and equipment limitations during direct patient care.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date:
- Cardiographic Tech specializing in Vascular Interpretation credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) also accepted.
- Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Any specialty accepted.
- Education: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.
