Sonography Program Chair/Instructor
About the role
Western is searching for a Program Chair/Director to lead its new Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
During the initial program development phase, the successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining program accreditation, implementing state-aligned curriculum, and developing clinical partnerships for student training. Once the program has launched (Fall 2028), responsibilities will expand to include:
- Instruction of students in-person in classroom and laboratory settings
- Overseeing the structure and daily operation of the program
- Organization, administration, periodic review, and program evaluation
- Monitoring ongoing development and effectiveness of program curricula
- Ensuring the effectiveness of all clinical affiliates is maintained
Instructors are responsible for preparing and providing quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment that leads to student success. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds of students, instructors foster student growth and prepare them for success in the workplace and/or a pathway to further education. This position works to promote social justice within the division and the larger academic institution.
