Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic and/or clinical instruction as assigned by the program director
  • Maintain accurate course documentation and scholastic records of students enrolled in classes and submit required reports to the Program Director and to the registrar
  • Prepare thoroughly for each instructional hour
  • Instruct and guide the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Select learning experiences that facilitate the student attainment of course student learning outcomes
  • Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Grade and return student work in a timely manner
  • Counsel students regarding their grades and progress in the course
  • Organize and maintain laboratory including physical facilities, equipment, and materials in a clean, neat, operating condition, when applicable
  • Maintain current certifications/license/credentials to practice in their profession
  • Utilize a variety of instructional evaluation methods considering learning styles and teaching/learning theory
  • Supervise and evaluate student clinical/lab performance
  • Maintain current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and grades

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • Appropriate credential(s) specific to the concentrations offered
  • Two years full-time professional experience as a general sonographer (AB, OB/GYN)
  • Must be credentialed in Sonography by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Preferences

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five years of experience as a Sonography technologist
