Sonographer - Weekend Evening

About the Role

The ultrasound technologist provides diagnostic imaging services by performing high-quality ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders. This includes preparing equipment and rooms, positioning patients, developing films, evaluating image quality, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

They assist radiologists, input patient data accurately, and deliver excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff. The role emphasizes maintaining confidentiality, adhering to safety protocols, and participating in quality assurance activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Prepare equipment and examination rooms for procedures.
• Position patients correctly and ensure their comfort and safety.
• Develop and evaluate ultrasound images for quality.
• Assist radiologists during diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Accurately input and manage patient data.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and infection control.
• Ability to educate patients and work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to adapt to shift rotations, including specialty areas and standby call.
