About the role
Our Ultrasound department prides itself on working together in a learning environment to best serve our patients and community. Staff can rotate from the hospital to any of our other five ultrasound off-site or specialty departments, depending on their skill set and interests.
Responsibilities
- Produces high quality diagnostic images for Radiologist Interpretation
- Works as part of a team on most shifts and locations
- Serves as the primary liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other members of the support team
- Adheres to departmental exam protocols and uses independent, professional, ethical judgment and critical thinking
- Performs ultrasound procedures based on IAC and ARDMS standards
Requirements
- Successful completion of accredited (CAAHEP) educational Sonography program recognized by the ARDMS
- Previous experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, preferred
- Familiarity with neuro-sonology, vascular scanning, abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scanning, preferred
- Compliant with Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) prior to hire, required
- ARMDS Registered, preferred
- Registry eligible, must be obtained within 12 months from accepted employment, required
- Vascular registered within 18 months from accepted employment, required
- Ability to obtain BLS during employment
