Responsibilities
- Ultrasound Department and Equipment
- Knowledge of Safe and Effective operation of Ultrasound units.
- Safety
- Adheres to Safe Use and Disposal policy for Cidex (Safety equip, PPD)
- Time Management
- Works efficiently and independently and completes work assignments including exam and worksheets.
- Ultrasound Exam Competency
- Utilizes correct transducer and Exam settings to optimize equipment performance and safety (ALARA: As Low As Reasonable Allowable).
- Communication
- Effectively utilizes Affinity, Pac's EDM and Scheduling program.
- Patient Competencies
- Verifies Patient Identification (2 Identifiers), Examination requested and Utilizes time out for Invasive Procedures.
- Policies and Procedures
- Completes Advanced Competencies for: Biopsy/Invasive Procedures, Stress, Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo and Tran esophageal Echo.
- Scheduling
- Accommodates Requests for Ultrasound Examinations.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirements
- Satisfactory completion of an ultrasound-training program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS) or Registry eligible.
- Experience
- Demonstrates an equivalent combination of education and/or experience specifically in ultrasound.
- Six month or more experience preferred.
- Licensure
- CPR certification (BLS) required.
- ARDMS required.
