Responsibilities

  1. Ultrasound Department and Equipment
    • Knowledge of Safe and Effective operation of Ultrasound units.
    • Safety
      • Adheres to Safe Use and Disposal policy for Cidex (Safety equip, PPD)
    • Time Management
      • Works efficiently and independently and completes work assignments including exam and worksheets.
    • Ultrasound Exam Competency
      • Utilizes correct transducer and Exam settings to optimize equipment performance and safety (ALARA: As Low As Reasonable Allowable).
    • Communication
      • Effectively utilizes Affinity, Pac's EDM and Scheduling program.
    • Patient Competencies
      • Verifies Patient Identification (2 Identifiers), Examination requested and Utilizes time out for Invasive Procedures.
    • Policies and Procedures
      • Completes Advanced Competencies for: Biopsy/Invasive Procedures, Stress, Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo and Tran esophageal Echo.
    • Scheduling
      • Accommodates Requests for Ultrasound Examinations.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements
    • Satisfactory completion of an ultrasound-training program.
    • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARMDS) or Registry eligible.
  • Experience
    • Demonstrates an equivalent combination of education and/or experience specifically in ultrasound.
    • Six month or more experience preferred.
  • Licensure
    • CPR certification (BLS) required.
    • ARDMS required.
