Responsibilities
- Reviews, trains, and coaches junior level Sonographers with all processes and procedures.
- Evaluates, synthesizes, and communicates diagnostic and research information to the physician.
- Performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams according to established guidelines.
- Performs high quality echocardiographic exams and collaborates with the cardiology staff to make accurate diagnoses of complex congenital and acquired pediatric heart abnormalities.
- Provides preliminary reports for diagnostic assessments to physicians.
- Provides optimal service to patients while respecting and demonstrating patient confidentiality.
- Affords assistance with research activities by collecting data and participating in research projects.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Maintains strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.
- Displays detail oriented with meticulous planning and organizational skills while balancing multiple priorities.
- Demonstrates a positive demeanor and responds to questions in a timely and respectful manner.
- Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Education & Certification
- Associate's Degree in related field is required.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS or CCI) - Required.
