Sonographer - Senior (Adult Cardiac Echo)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, trains, and coaches junior level Sonographers with all processes and procedures.
  • Evaluates, synthesizes, and communicates diagnostic and research information to the physician.
  • Performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasound exams according to established guidelines.
  • Performs high quality echocardiographic exams and collaborates with the cardiology staff to make accurate diagnoses of complex congenital and acquired pediatric heart abnormalities.
  • Provides preliminary reports for diagnostic assessments to physicians.
  • Provides optimal service to patients while respecting and demonstrating patient confidentiality.
  • Affords assistance with research activities by collecting data and participating in research projects.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Maintains strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.
  • Displays detail oriented with meticulous planning and organizational skills while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrates a positive demeanor and responds to questions in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Education & Certification

  • Associate's Degree in related field is required.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (ARDMS or CCI) - Required.
