Role Overview: The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring safe, accurate, and age-appropriate patient care. They independently set up equipment, position patients, and produce high-quality images while adhering to department protocols and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Verify physician orders, gather patient history, and assess contraindications.Obtain and review ultrasound images, ensuring proper identification and clinical acceptability.Respond to emergencies, assist colleagues, and evaluate patient conditions for physician intervention.Explain procedures to patients, address concerns, and provide pre- and post-procedural care.Maintain equipment, perform quality control, and ensure images are sent to PACS promptly.Assist with departmental operations, including restocking supplies, transporting patients, and maintaining a clean environment.Follow infection control policies and operate imaging equipment safely to minimize radiation dose. Qualifications & Skills: High School Diploma or GED; Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree preferred.Registered Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or ARRT-S certification required.Minimum 1 year clinical ultrasound experience preferred.Excellent communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
