Breast Sonographer - PRN
Location: Cleveland, OH
Hours: PRN | Variable within operating hours (M-F 8a-4:30p)
- Responsibilities:
- Independent operation of sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique.
- Communicate with the patient and relay any pertinent information to the radiologist and document on tracking sheet/chart.
- Communicate with the radiologist and understand and perform any necessary additional exams.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Exceptions and training outside the US require HR approval.
- Certification: Active certification with ARDMS (SPI only is not eligible for hire) or ARRT(S). ARRT-BS is also acceptable if performing breast sonography only. Current compliance with CME requirements. Exceptions require HR approval.
- Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate to patients the procedures and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health. Ability to read and write and comprehend medical terminology. Ability to effectively communicate information on a one-on-one and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Physical Demands: Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time.
