Role Overview
The Sonographer is responsible for producing high-quality sonograms efficiently while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They analyze sonographic images, integrate medical history, and communicate findings to physicians. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound equipment, software, and PACS systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being during procedures.
- Analyze sonograms and synthesize information for medical interpretation.
- Communicate findings clearly to physicians.
- Maintain proficiency with ultrasound equipment and diagnostic protocols.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program; associate's degree preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital or outpatient ultrasound operations.
- Solid understanding of diagnostic ultrasound systems and exams.
- Certifications such as RDMS-Sonographer and CPR Healthcare Provider; RVT-Registered Vascular Tech preferred.
