Responsibilities

• Independently operate sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique.
• Communicate with patients, relay pertinent information to the radiologist, and document on tracking sheets/charts.
• Communicate with the radiologist, understand, and perform any necessary additional exams.
• Understand, promote, and demonstrate the Solis Way.
• Produce high‑quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam.
• Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.
• Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize comfort and cooperation.
• Provide appropriate monitoring during all phases of the procedure, ensuring patient emotional and physical well‑being.
• Assist and/or chaperone the radiologist during ultrasound exams.
• Assist radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using proper sterile technique and universal precautions.
• Communicate patient information professionally and courteously to patients and referring physicians’ offices as required.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and safety.
• Maintain a good working relationship with radiologists and other center staff members.

Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program (exceptions and training outside the US reviewed case‑by‑case with HR approval).
• Certification: Active ARDMS (SPI only not eligible) or ARRT(S); ARRT‑BS acceptable if performing breast sonography only; current CME compliance (exceptions require HR approval).
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time.
