Sonographer

About the role

Performs high quality and accurate diagnostic ultrasound images. Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner. Maintains ultrasound equipment in optimum working condition. Applies knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Medical Sonography or equivalent
• Willing to participate in continuing education to remain current on technical advances as they occur
• Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Registered in RDMS and RVT within 6 months of hire required
• Maintain current CPR skills

Qualifications

• Strong anatomy and physiology background
• Ability to assess results, problem solve, and use independent judgment
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
• Proven ability to operate ultrasound equipment, fax, telephone, PC, printer, and photocopier safely and efficiently

Pay

1.0 FTE / 40 hrs weekly: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday day shifts, Thursday 11:30-8pm. 1 weekend every 12-14 weeks and 1 holiday a year.
