Solutions Manager Objectives
- Drive revenue generation goals consistent with quota.
- Provide Sierra Wireless technical training to partners.
- Establish Statements of Work for specific large projects.
- Coordinate with sales team around all technical account activities.
- Accountable for the overall customer technical onboarding process.
Specific Tasks
- Support Sierra Wireless Sales teams in a technical pre-sales engineering capacity.
- Drive customer confidence by taking the role of the “Total Solution Technical Expert”.
- Assist with technical qualification and understanding of customer business models and ROI.
- Proactively assist customers through trial & development phases to ensure successful implementation, conversion, and adoption.
- Develop Statements of Work for technical deliverables that deliver the technical elements in customer proposals.
- Work with internal engineering, product management, service delivery, and project management resources.
- Conduct SWIR technology demonstrations to prospects, customers, partners, and internal personnel.
- Based on customer input, provide internal Product Management with specific and well-analyzed feedback related to new product features and roadmap requests & requirements.
Qualifications
- A minimum 4-year degree in the field of engineering and/or Information Technology, or a 2-year technical degree with ample relevant experience.
- 5+ years of Sales Engineering / Solutions Architect experience in one or more of these industry verticals: Cellular Telecommunications Networks, MVNO, Wireless, cloud-hosted Platform-as-a Service, and embedded computing.
- Solid understanding of basic cellular network architectures, including: 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, NTN, LPWA (M1/NBIoT), eUICC, APN/VPN, & IP Networking.
- Basic understanding of web services APIs as used in IT system architectures, and in particular the use RESTful APIs implemented in JSON over HTTP.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – including public speaking.
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adhere to established deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- A willingness and ability to travel requires 20 to 30% within the Central, Mountain, and Western US.
