About the role

As a Solutions Architect within the AWS WWPS Partner team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of AWS services—including AI/ML, high-performance computing (HPC), advanced analytics, digital engineering, and manufacturing systems modernization—directly with our ecosystem of defense-sector systems integrators, consulting and technology partners. You will serve as a dedicated technical resource for high-growth defense partners navigating critical cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, owning solution design and delivery independently while collaborating with senior architects on complex or novel challenges.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own technical strategy and solution architecture for defense-sector partners undergoing cloud adoption, modernization, and digital transformation
  • Deliver end-to-end solution designs spanning AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing systems, and data platforms on AWS
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to partner teams, building relationships and proactively identifying opportunities to advance their cloud journey
  • Bring defense industry knowledge to engagements — understanding mission-critical workflows, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG), and operational constraints unique to A&D partners
  • Develop and deliver technical content, capture best-practice knowledge, and contribute to the AWS Solutions Architect community
  • Collaborate with sales, business development, and senior architects to drive architectural decisions and ensure AWS is positioned as the strategic platform of choice
  • Own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
  • Define implementation architectures across compute, data, machine learning, and operational tooling
  • Respond to RFPs
  • Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on defense industry workflows, compliance frameworks, and the unique technical challenges of mission-critical environments

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Experience with AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing, or data engineering workloads on AWS
  • Familiarity with defense compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG, ITAR)

Pay

Base salary range: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
