Solutions Architect, WWPS Global Defense Partners
About the role
This role involves helping customers implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solving technical problems, specifically within the AWS WWPS Partner team. The Solutions Architect will work directly with defense-sector systems integrators, consulting, and technology partners to shape and deliver strategies for broad use of AWS services.
Responsibilities
- Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
- Defining implementation architectures across compute, data, machine learning, and operational tooling
- Serving as a dedicated technical resource for high-growth defense partners navigating critical cloud adoption and modernization initiatives
- Collaborating with senior architects on complex or novel challenges
- Delivering end-to-end solution designs spanning AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing systems, and data platforms on AWS
- Bringing defense industry knowledge to engagements, understanding mission-critical workflows, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG), and operational constraints unique to A&D partners
- Developing and delivering technical content, capturing best-practice knowledge, and contributing to the AWS Solutions Architect community
- Collaborating with sales, business development, and senior architects to drive architectural decisions and ensure AWS is positioned as the strategic platform of choice
Requirements
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- A current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
Qualifications
- Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience with AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing, or data engineering workloads on AWS
- Familiarity with defense compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG, ITAR)
Skills
The ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver independently, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and maintain momentum across partner engagements at the project and solution level.

$131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
