About the role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon’s utility computing web services directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators, partners, and solution providers.
You will help healthcare providers implement innovative cloud computing and AI solutions, solve technical problems, and enhance the experience of patients and clinicians. You will also help customers implement cloud computing solutions using the latest technologies, assist groups in understanding application architectures and integration approaches, and apply consultative and leadership skills to launch projects successfully.
Your responsibilities will include owning the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects, defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing deep expertise in AWS technologies, and serving as a subject matter expert on security for customer applications and services.
You will provide technical design and thought leadership while collaborating with a world-class sales and business development team, capture and share best-practice knowledge, and learn from and educate some of the brightest technical minds in enterprise architecture.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical engagement and success of specific implementation projects for healthcare and other customers.
- Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
- Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad knowledge of how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
- Provide technical design and thought leadership to customers.
- Lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
- Collaborate with and educate technical teams across the industry on enterprise architecture.
- Engage in deep-dive technical discussions about design and maintain intellectual curiosity to keep technical skills current.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.
- 4+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- Technical presentation experience (whiteboard, small and large group presentations).
- Web services development/deployment experience and cloud computing expertise.
- Experience in web site/services operations, management, and security.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR.
- Experience working with a healthcare provider or an organization serving healthcare customers.
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
- Knowledge of AWS services, such as Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Elastic Block Storage (EBS), and Simple Storage Service (S3).

Pay
The base salary range for this position varies by location:
- USA, CO, Denver: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, GA, Atlanta: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, IL, Chicago: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, MI, Detroit: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, MN, Minneapolis: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, TN, Nashville: $124,700.00 - $168,800.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Dallas: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Houston: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
- USA, VA, Arlington: $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
