About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and AWS Partners.

This role requires the ability to travel 30%. The candidate selected must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical engagement around specific implementation projects
  • Provide best practices to customers
  • Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
  • Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers while working with a world-class sales and business development team
  • Lead efforts to capture and share best-practices within the AWS Solution Architect community

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Skills

  • Technical presentation experience – whiteboard, small and large group presentations
  • Designing, developing, deploying, and/or migrating to cloud environments
  • Web site/services operations, management, and security
  • Passion for helping customers design and create cloud computing architectures
  • Curiosity to keep technical skills current and maintain a pulse on industry trends

Pay

USA, VA, Arlington - $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually

USA, VA, Herndon - $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
