About the role

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with customers and AWS Partners. You will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world-class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practices within the AWS Solution Architect community and gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and requires the ability to travel 30%.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical engagement around specific implementation projects
  • Provide best practices to customers
  • Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
  • Act as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
  • Help customers design and create cloud computing architectures
  • Capture and share best-practices within the AWS Solution Architect community

Requirements

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), Cloud+, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • Technical presentation experience – whiteboard, small and large group presentations
  • Experience designing, developing, deploying, and/or migrating to cloud environments
  • Web site/services operations, management, and security experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

Pay

USA, VA, Arlington - $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually

USA, VA, Herndon - $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
