About the team
The IIoT Solutions Engineering team develops validated end-to-end solutions integrating Cisco IIoT Networking, Security, and OT partner products. This team plays a critical role in advancing Cisco's Internet of Things initiatives by delivering industry-specific solutions for Manufacturing, Utilities, Transportation, and Remote Assets. Comprised of skilled engineers and architects, the team collaborates closely with business leaders, field teams, services, and partners, fostering a dynamic and innovative environment. The team's work directly supports key IIoT customers, making a significant impact on solving complex business challenges. Responsibilities
- Perform solution testing of Cisco Validated Designs (CVDs) to ensure robust IIoT solutions.
- Develop detailed solution designs and test plans to validate product releases and industry applications.
- Drive end-to-end integration of Cisco and third-party products to meet industry vertical solution requirements and ensure the quality of new software releases through rigorous testing, including automation enhanced with AI.
- Identify product defects and enhancements in Cisco software to ensure quality and deliver the best experience for customers.
- Collaborate with engineering, product marketing, and services teams to develop robust designs.
- Author go-to-market collateral such as white papers and design documents.
- Drive innovation by engineering Proofs of Concept that support new product development and enhance customer experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience in roles such as solutions/system integration and deployment, network architecture, network security, technical support, scale and performance testing, or customer experience/services; or Master’s degree plus 3 years of related experience.
- Experience in automation, such as Python and the pyATS framework for solution test automation.
- Troubleshooting skills in networking environments.
- Ability to understand use case requirements and develop detailed solution designs and test plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cisco Cybervision, FTD/FMC, ISE, XDR, Splunk, or Secure Access.
- Exposure to industrial IoT protocols such as CIP, PROFINET, DNP3, Modbus, MQTT, IEC 61850, and NTCIP.
- Experience integrating AI into workflows and debugging complex problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and energetic teamwork style with initiative to drive results.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $128,600.00 to $184,900.00 for new hires in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation, equity, or benefits. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location, market conditions, job-related skillset, experience, qualifications, education, certifications, and/or training. The following full salary ranges apply for specific locations:
- New York City Metro Area: $155,000.00 - $256,000.00
- Non-Metro New York State & Washington State: $138,100.00 - $227,900.00
For quota-based sales roles, the ranges include base pay and sales target incentive compensation combined.

- For sales roles, performance-based incentive pay split between quota and non-quota components:
- Quota-based incentive pay:
- 0.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota.
- 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%.
- 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%.
- Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap.
