Responsibilities
- Aid in the qualification of new sourced items.
- Participate in R&D efforts to enhance product quality or production processes and applications.
- Report on testing and qualification results through both written and oral presentations.
- Verify current and potential sourced product claims for marketing purposes.
- Review and update Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs).
- Review and update Product Specification Sheets (PSS).
- Respond to customer questions and complaints professionally.
- Investigate and resolve reports of product nonconformities for internal and external customers.
- Validate product quality through lab testing such as thermal shock, impact and chip resistance, and durability tests.
- Support all product channels.
- Assist with process and product quality audits, including third-party testing such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, etc.
- Coordinate corrective and preventative actions, activities, and follow-up.
- Perform gauge reliability and repeatability studies as needed.
- Stay updated with relevant compliance and testing standards (such as ASTM) for various product categories and communicate with suppliers and customers when appropriate testing is recommended.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a global Quality Management System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Engineering, Sciences, Ceramics, Quality, etc.) OR associate degree in a technical field with at least 6 years of Quality or Ceramics Engineer experience.
- Two years of engineering or lab test experience within a manufacturing industry preferred.
- Experience in various aspects of quality (corporate, laboratory, operations, supplier, product development and launch, customer satisfaction).
- Strong verbal presentation and clear, concise written communication skills appropriate to the audience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with engineering and operations on cross-functional projects, facilitating process improvements, ability to streamline or develop and roll out new processes or product launches preferred.
- Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving skills, Six Sigma/Lean preferred.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and GD & T with a working understanding of measurement methods, layout inspection (CMM), gage calibration, and industry standards for inspection and testing preferred.
- Up to 10% travel, with at least part being international.
