Solution Technician

About the role

The Chemical Solutions Technician (ST) supports Sonny’s combined customers by providing for their chemical needs. The ST works with the chemical team to properly install Sonny’s chemistry, correct cleaning/application issues, and provide a reporting safety net for Key and National Accounts.

Responsibilities

• New Business Development: Coordinate and help install Sonny’s Chemistry products for Strategic Accounts. Accurately document setups, including cost per car and service reports. Use Salesforce (Sonny’s Chemistry CRM) to communicate activity with the team. Build strong relationships with new and existing customers. Work with the team to address clients’ needs, concerns, and objectives. Handle objections positively by clarifying issues, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to reach net positive conclusions for all.
• Customer Retention: Work with clients to solve cleaning and application issues. Provide next steps and action items for issues that cannot be remedied in the field or are outside the scope of work. Conduct standard service calls on Strategic Accounts to ensure Sonny’s Chemistry standards and commitments are met. Report on customer retention activities using Sonny’s Chemistry support tools and CRM programs like Salesforce. Collaborate with technical, marketing, and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs. Participate in internal and external client debriefs.
• Management and Research: Submit accurate weekly planning and bimonthly expense reports. Control expenses and stay within the planned yearly budget. Test and accurately report on all new products. Provide technical training for distributors and their staff. Develop a thorough understanding of the company and distributors’ capabilities. Support the goals, purpose, and direction of Sonny’s Chemistry to enhance market performance. Present a positive image that mirrors the core values of Sonny’s Chemistry.
• Other: Operate safely in accordance with published safety guidelines. Wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and job duties. Report all work-related accidents or injuries within 24 hours. Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed. Cover routes for CAS PTO or open positions and support special projects.

Requirements

• Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, sit, and move about the facility.
• Experience & Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of carwash service experience. Preferred experience working with a national distribution and direct sales network. Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience requiring excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate internally with various departments and externally with customers and distributors.
• Strong judgment and knowledge of company policies and procedures to resolve non-standard problems.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
• Travel required as needed.
